The 18th Defence Service Asia, DSA 2024 and the 3rd National Security, NATSEC Asia Exhibitions 2024 are taking place until the 9th of May at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre in Putrajaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. A delegation from the Ministry of Defence attended the event, led by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohammad Yussof, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Defence. Over one thousand companies from several countries are taking part in the DSA 2024 and NATSEC Asia 2024, focusing on the development of local industries and international cooperation. This year's edition highlighted various new strategies in addressing current security challenges which includes cyber defence.

 

The event's opening ceremony was officiated by Yang Amat Berhormat Dato' Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia. The 18th DSA 2024 showcases advanced technologies such as for Land, Air, and Sea Defence. Meanwhile, the 3rd NATSEC Asia prioritises on national security by exhibiting equipment for policing, battlefield healthcare, sea-based platforms, and training systems, aimed at addressing regional security challenges and to foster collaborations.

 

The Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Defence also had the opportunity to hold a separate bilateral meeting with Yang Berhormat Dato' Seri Mohamed Khaled bin Nordin, Minister of Defence, Malaysia.

 

During the meeting, both sides emphasised the long standing defence relations, discussed various bilateral and strategic issues of mutual interests and concerns, and reiterate commitments to further expand the strong and long-established defence cooperation between the two countries.
